Fall Family Activities in Vancouver
This fall, you’ll find there’s no shortage of things to see and do in the Vancouver area, offering you some fun family activities in Vancouver to fill the weekends. Keep reading as I share some of the top family activities which will create fun memories with your children this fall.
A Fall Family Hike
There’s no shortage of great hikes to enjoy in the Vancouver area, and the fall is the perfect time to head out and experience nature. You’ll enjoy seeing the colourful leaves as they change throughout the season. As kids are back in school, it’s the perfect way to allow them to let off some steam after a busy week indoors.
Halloween is nearly upon us, and you’ll want to think about unique ways you can celebrate with your family. The Stanley Park Train in Vancouver transforms itself during the fall, and you’ll enjoy visiting either in the day or at night. The Bear Creek Park Train in Surrey also does a similar thing, and the spooky effects will make for a very different experience than you might have had at these two locations before.
Visit Maplewood Farm
Maplewood Farm makes for a great day out for the whole family. We love visiting here while the leaves are changing colour, and they also have some lovely pumpkin displays and hot cider to enjoy. Highlights of a visit here include seeing their Sicilian miniature donkey and the giant New Zealand white rabbits.
Visit Stanley Park
While you can visit Stanley Park at any time of the year, we particularly enjoy spending time here during the fall months. The train we mentioned above is a unique addition at this time of the year, but you can also just enjoy walking around some of the trails. Make the most of the weather during this season, as you may find that it becomes too cold in the next month or two to spend endless days outdoors.
Surrey Art Gallery
Although you’ll definitely want to spend a fair amount of time outdoors during the fall, it’s important to have a few indoor activities up your sleeves in case of rain. Surrey Art Gallery gives you the chance to explore a range of artwork, but the thing we particularly love is the activities and workshops for families and children. They offer something for all ages, so make sure you check out their upcoming events for the fall.
These are just a few of my top ideas for fall family activities in Vancouver. You’ll find there’s no limit to the things to do in Vancouver and the surrounding area during this time of the year, and with a little research and planning, you’ll never be bored again. I love experiencing the changing colours during the fall, and it’s the perfect time to head outdoors before it starts to get too chilly. Whatever you choose to do, make the most of your time together as a family this fall and keep creating precious memories with your loved ones.
