If you are looking to treat your family to a special meal this weekend, you’ll find there’s no shortage of North Vancouver restaurants to visit. Keep reading as I share some of my top restaurants in the local area, all of which would be ideal for visiting with your whole family.
Tap and Barrel
Tap and Barrel is just a short distance away from Lonsdale Quay and is ideal for visiting on a warm day. We love sitting on their large outdoor patio, and it’s a great spot for casual eats including nachos and chicken wings. The adults in your party won’t want to miss their extensive selection of craft beers which the venue is particularly well-known for.
Jägerhof Restaurant
Enjoy German, Austrian, South Tyrol, and Swiss cuisine in this themed restaurant which is located on Lonsdale Avenue. As well as serving some of the area’s best food, you’ll love the live music they play here during the weekends. It’s the perfect combination of delicious food and fun entertainment, which is why it’s one of my favourite North Vancouver restaurants.

Il Castello Pizzeria
You can’t go wrong with pizza when it comes to taking your family out for dinner. Il Castello Pizzeria can be found on 119 2nd St E and is a cozy restaurant with some of the city’s best pizza. They offer all of the classic pizza toppings you can imagine, making it ideal for kids and picky eaters.
Pier 7
When choosing a North Vancouver restaurant to visit, consider finding somewhere with beautiful waterfront views. Pier 7 is one of the top waterfront restaurants in the local area, and they have a heated patio that is open all year round. The menu features upscale dishes and plenty of seafood, so it’s ideal for a birthday celebration or family gathering.
Buddha-Full
If you are dining out with anyone on a plant-based diet, they’ll appreciate you taking them to one of the best vegan-friendly and gluten-free North Vancouver restaurants. Even family members who don’t follow this type of diet will love their organic food and drink, and you’ll feel refreshed following a healthy meal in this local restaurant.
Burgoo
After a busy week of work and school, there’s nowhere better to dine than Burgoo. This is one of our favourite comfort food restaurants in Vancouver, and you can’t miss their Brie Fondue on your next visit. It’s the ideal restaurant to visit over the winter months, as it’s a very cozy spot with plenty of warming dishes. This restaurant constantly appears on lists of top North Vancouver restaurants, and as soon as you visit for yourself, you’ll see exactly why.
As you can see, there are so many great North Vancouver restaurants to cater to any dietary requirements and cravings. You’ll find no shortage of places to dine out with your family throughout the year. I love sitting outside near the waterfront in the summer and then heading into a cozier spot when the weather cools down.
