That tiny little line turned blue and your life changed forever in the blink of an eye! Whether you’ve been planning and trying or this comes as a complete surprise, this is such an exciting time! Having a baby is probably the most life-defining thing you’ll ever do, and you only get nine months to really prepare for it. If you’re anything like me, that little blue line led to a huge to-do list. First and foremost should be finding a care provider during your pregnancy. I’m here to help you out if you’re in the Langley area, with a list of Langley Midwife practices for you to check out.
Midwifery is a popular care choice for pregnant mamas these days. I personally have used a midwife for all three of my children’s pre-natal care and birth. I personally love that they are there for 6 weeks postpartum as well and have a more holistic view of pregnancy and birth, rather than just medical. These Langley Midwife practices should give you a good starting point as you decide on what is best for you, your family and your new baby.
Most midwifery practices have a similar philosophy of care. It’s all about informed consent and ensuring you have all the information you need to make the best decisions for your baby. But each midwife practice has some small differences that might make them the right care provider for you!
Langley Midwife: Family Health Clinic Midwives
Dr. Cathy Carlson-Rink, one of the midwives at Family Health Clinic is both a midwife and a naturopathic doctor. She has been practicing since 1996 at the Family Health Clinic with a focus on pregnancy, infertility, women’s and children’s health and has post graduate education in Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Breastfeeding. The team consists of three other Registered Midwives as well for a well-rounded care model.
Grove Midwifery Care
The midwives at Grove Midwifery Care are dedicated to providing excellent, holistic, family centred care to women and their families. Grove has a team of five midwives who will see you through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. They strongly believe and trust in the power, strength and ability of a woman as she moves through her pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postpartum.
West Coast Health Collective
This Langley Midwife practice isn’t actually in Langley, but serves families from Langley. West Coast Health Collective is an integrative health practice with eight Registered Midwives and a Registered Massage Therapist. They are located in Abbotsford and serve families in Abbotsford, Mission, Aldergrove and Langley. They have privileges at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Langley Memorial Hospital.
