It was so nice to be back capturing special moments for my clients this last weekend! Tahira and Farhan contacted me a couple weeks before restrictions were lifted for their Vancouver maternity photography session. Since some restrictions were lifted, I was thrilled to finally be able to tell an expectant mama that I could schedule her in for the end of May! We chatted on the phone quickly about locations and timing and they decided they wanted to venture outside the city to Pitt Lake for the incredible view of the mountains at golden hour.

Unfortunately for us, that sun stayed firmly behind the clouds that whole sessions, so we didn’t get the golden glow we were hoping for, but this gorgeous soon-to-be mama and papa, and a sweet little baby bump didn’t need it. Tahira and Farhan were such a fun couple to photograph, and their love for one another was immediately evident. Farhan was always able to get Tahira to laugh naturally and feel at ease, even when standing in the middle of a swampy field in a gown holding her baby belly and trying to make it seem like she does it every day!

Due with their first in baby in July, this gorgeous couple had a photographer lined up for their Vancouver maternity photography session who unfortunately cancelled their session on them. Lucky for me, a friend of a friend recommend me to them and I got the pleasure of spending time with them as they wait eagerly for their little baby.

I know from experience that motherhood is an amazing adventure. I am passionate about capturing it and immortalizing the anticipation and love of parents welcoming a new baby, whether it’s their first like these two, or their fourth. I feel so privileged when a couple invites me into the story of their growing family.

I had so much fun capturing these two in this extremely special season of waiting. Congratulations, you two – that’s going to be one adorable and well loved kid!
