North Shore Christmas Events
The Christmas season is nearly upon us, and many of the top local attractions are planning celebrations to make up for the past year. Let’s take a look at some of the best North Shore Christmas Events for the year that will be perfect for celebrating the season with your whole family.
Canyon Lights
You can’t go wrong with a trip to the Capilano Suspension Bridge to see the Canyon Lights this year. Kids and adults alike will love their incredible Christmas illuminations and decorations, which light up both the bridges and the trees. It’s one of the most popular attractions in the area and starts from the end of November through to Mid-January. It’s one of my favourite ways to get in the festive mood each year, and it will soon become a family tradition for you year after year.
Peak of Christmas
One of my favourite North Shore Christmas events is Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain. The events are included in your standard admission price, and you’ll find no shortage of things to see and do here. They usually offer sleigh rides, holiday movies, gingerbread house displays, and winter sports. The Peak of Christmas usually starts towards the end of November and continues through until just after New Year. It’s one of the most picturesque locations in the area and would be the ideal backdrop for family photos this year.
North Shore Christmas Craft Markets
If you are looking to do some last-minute Christmas shopping, check out one of the local craft markets this year. You’ll find that the North Shore and Lower Mainland markets offer both local and international goods which are made by talented artisans. There’s always a great variety of products on offer, and kids will love shopping here with their allowance as well. Typically, these markets take place at weekends, starting at the end of November and continuing through until just before Christmas.
FlyOver Canada
While FlyOver Canada is a fun attraction at any time of year, you’ll want to visit in December to take your family on an adventure to the North Pole. During the holiday season, you’ll travel with Santa across the country and visit his home in the North Pole. It’s one of my favourite North Shore Christmas events for children and is ideal for those days where the weather isn’t good for outdoor events. They are still keeping safety in mind and offering reduced capacity at this time due to the recent pandemic. Make sure you book up early for that reason to avoid disappointment, especially on the dates closer to Christmas.
I can’t wait to check out all of these North Shore Christmas events this year with my family. After last year’s challenges, it’s an exciting time for the local community to get together once again and celebrate with their family and loved ones. Whichever of these events you check out this year, make sure you take your camera with you to remember your time together as a family this Christmas.
