Maple Ridge Newborn Photography – Baby Lucas
Teeny tiny babies just fill my heart. I can so vividly remember the moment both of my children were placed on my chest and I thought I was going to burst with love. It overwhelmed me how much I could adore this tiny little baby, despite what it had just put me through. Newborn sessions often bring me back to those moments, and I love that I’m able to capture that for other mamas. This Maple Ridge newborn photography session, when baby Lucas was not even one-week-old, definitely brought me back.
While every newborn session is special, because this one was so close to baby’s actual birth date, both sets of grandparents were around during our session and had the opportunity for some photos with their brand new grandson. I think my favourite part of this whole session was when big sister got just a tiny bit jealous and needed Grandpa’s attention too.
One thing I absolutely love about lifestyle sessions is that you have the ability to be flexible with older siblings. Little E was a firecracker with her own opinion about when she should be in a photo and with whom. She definitely made me work for it, but because of the relaxed style of this Maple Ridge newborn photography session, when she was ready and wanted to be in the photos, we made sure it was all about her.
Little Lucas, on the other hand, was a total champ. I always recommend to my moms and dads that they keep the rooms we’ll be having our session in very warm so we can pull out those tiny toes and fingers without baby getting cold or uncomfortable. Baby Lucas was snug as a bug and slept right through. Each time he’d stir, mama would give him some snuggles and he’s drift right back to sleep, allowing me to capture him in all his teeny-tininess.
Of course, the session always comes back to mom and dad. These two love birds were married earlier this year and their love for one another was so passionate yet so gentle and sweet, and it was only made stronger with the arrival of their son. Their looks at one another and at their newborn son were so joy-filled and pure, and it was an honour to be invited into this precious season of their life and capture it all.
