I had the immense pleasure of photographing this gorgeous soon-to-be mama of four boys at our in-home lifestyle maternity photography session just over a week ago. I met her when I decided that, though I love my outdoor golden hour maternity sessions, I desperately wanted an in-home session in my portfolio. When she told me she was pregnant with her fourth boy, I decided her little family would be perfect models for this project, and I was not disappointed.

I was warmly greeted by their three-year-old, N, the moment I arrived. He watched me get out of my van and waved enthusiastically through the window as I walked up to the house. He was excited to be part of the session and walked me into the home with his mama and showed me where he liked to have his dance parties in the living room. Their eldest son, K, was kind and welcoming but less rambunctious than his younger brother. The youngest of the three, M, at one-and-a-half was definitely the shyest of the family and mostly just stared at me as most little ones do at first.

The moment our lifestyle maternity photography session began, the silliness ensued! The five of them cuddled onto their living room couch to start and it immediately turned into a tickle fight. K jumped over dad to tickle N’s feet. Everyone leaned over to give little M some squishes and tickles. N had a mind of his own and decided right away that he needed to sit right between mom and dad for every photo. It took a fair amount of coaxing to get him to move so that mom and dad could have some cuddle time, and even then he ran in and out of the room while we tried to get some images of just mom and dad.

Dad went and turned on a TV show for the boys so we could create some beautiful images of mom and dad, and then just mama. I absolutely adore what we captured. The images of Laura and her baby bump are a beautiful celebration of motherhood and pregnancy, and I’m so excited for her and her family as they welcome baby boy number four this fall!
