Golden Ears Maternity Photography
Every time I have a session outdoors I left reminded what a privilege it is to live in B.C. The fact that our mild weather means that my clients can choose outdoor locations all year round is definitely a plus, but it’s nothing compared to the stunning scenery we have to choose from for backdrops. This Golden Ears Maternity Photography session from last weekend left me so grateful for where I live and have the opportunity to capture sweet memories for families.
Jenn and Sean drove all the way from Chilliwack for our session. Jenn and said right away that she would love a mountain view, and the water if possible as well. My response was “I have just the place!” They had never been to Golden Ears Provincial Park since Chilliwack Lake is so close to them, but they had been meaning to go. We had been meaning just to go to the picnic area, but I had been wanting to hike into a more private area. About two weeks before our session I reached out and asked Jenn if a 2km hike would be doable for her and I’m so glad she said yes!
Our Golden Ears Maternity Photography session was the stuff of dreams, and I absolutely love the images we created together. These are some of my favourites.
Of course, only during a pandemic is a hike-in beach packed in the beginning of February! I was shocked. The amount of traffic in the parking lot was close to what we’d see in the middle of July! But we braved the crowds and were happy to see it was easy it space out.
Honestly, one of my favourite things about this Golden Ears Maternity Session was the opportunity to go for a short hike with these two. It was awesome to get to know them as we walked together to our location. We chatted about life and having a baby in a pandemic and all the challenges, and by the time we start shooting it felt like taking images of friends. I cannot wait to celebrate the arrival of their sweet baby with them next month!
