Family Photography in Vancouver
It’s my joy in life to be able to capture sweet moments to help parents savour their kids while they’re small. Life is chaotic, and sometimes days feel mundane, but they are beautiful. The way kids rely on and look up to their parents at this age and relate to their siblings is so special. It was so much fun to be invited into this family’s home and capture their unique connection. Their family photography in Vancouver session was such a blast!
This family is a dear one to me. Mama is a good friend of mine and their oldest daughter is my daughter’s best friend. These two have been inseparable since they were toddlers, and their friendship only seems to have grown since. When they were tiny, A would act like a mother to my little one, as she’s one year older. She would take her by the hand and guide her through the water park in the summer, or spin her on the merry-go-round at the park. Their connection was immediate and sure and it’s been so much fun to watch it develop.
Their middle son has recently started taking this role in my middle son’s life, sharing his toys with him and acting like a kind big brother. Their budding friendship has been adorable to watch as well!
One thing I love about this family is their intentionality. They decided at the beginning of this year to really focus on their family life, and it shows. I loved being able to do their family photography in Vancouver session because the love and joy in this family is just so evident.
When I arrived, all the children greeted me excitedly at the door, enthusiastic to show me their beautiful outfits. And while many families find it difficult to interact and connect naturally, these guys had no problem. They happily snuggled up to read a story together, had a pillow fight with dad, played with the baby and ate cookies in the kitchen!
I absolutely loved capturing this season of their lives together! Our children are little for such a short time, and while it’s a crazy season, it’s such a tender and special one. It can be hard while we’re in it, but one day we’ll look back and miss these days.
