Chilliwack Family Photographer
I’ve never really thought of myself as a Chilliwack Family Photographer because Chilliwack feels so far away. In fact, it’s about an hour drive in each direction and even compared to Maple Ridge feels small-town and like the country. But I’ve been out there a few times recently capturing families, and I kind of love it, so I guess that makes me a Chilliwack Family Photographer!
I first met Agatha last fall when I hired her to design my gorgeous branding and website. She is an amazingly talented designer and I was so thrilled when she first mentioned family photos to me. Being a creative herself, of course her family was immaculately dressed, making it easy to do my job! Her kids were so sweet and became my buddies right away, so I was once again super excited when she reached out this year for updated photos.
With Chilliwack being a bit of a trek, their session as the first time I was going to leave my son for more than a couple hours since he was born. I was nervous and a little bit anxious and don’t think I would’ve done it for anyone else! But my excitement to spend time with Agatha and her family again won out!
I had just as much fun with these five this year as last. The kids were fun and full of energy – all three of them! The biggest change over the year was their youngest. At our last session, she was shy and reserved, and while her big brother and sister were silly and chatty and played with me, she was quiet and kept a firm grasp on either mom or dad. This year, she had opened right up! She was talking and being silly and keeping up with her siblings.
It’s always a huge compliment and warms my heart when families book with me more than once, and it definitely makes my job easier as we get to know each other!
I love capturing playful children and their parents. I have a few kids myself and know how hard it is to get kids to sit still and stare at the camera. And even if they do, these photos generally don’t capture the pieces of their little personalities you want to remember. If you’re thinking of fun, authentic and emotional family photos, I’d love to chat with you!
