Whether you live in Kelowna or are just visiting on vacation, there’s plenty for families to enjoy in the local area. To help you plan your time in Kelowna, I’m here to share with you some of my top things to do, all of which are ideal for families with smaller children.

Visit the Beach

Both Kelowna and West Kelowna have some lovely beaches to visit. In the area, you’ll find over 30 beaches, and I love visiting here with my family. Make sure you bring all of your beach toys to make the most of the day, and if your kids love swimming, they’ll find the water to be nice and clear to enjoy watching the fishes swim by. Gyro Beach Park would be my top recommendation, as it has play structures and a lovely walking path, making it one of the top things to do in Kelowna.

Knox Mountain

For families with smaller children, I recommend driving most of the way to the top of Knox Mountain. You’ll enjoy incredible views over Okanagan Lake and downtown Kelowna. I usually pack a picnic for a day out here, which you can enjoy together after witnessing the amazing scenery.

Kangaroo Creek Farm

Lake Country’s Kangaroo Creek Farm makes for a fun day out for all of the family. Kids and adults alike will love petting the kangaroos, and I even had the chance to feed a baby kangaroo here. Kangaroos and wallabies have been kept here for over 20 years, and it’s an excellent place for the whole family to explore.

Mini Golf at 19 Greens

Mini golf is something that kids and teens always enjoy doing on vacation, and it’s a good way to pass a few hours if you are short of something to do one morning or evening. I highly recommend the 19 Greens course, which also has spectacular views of Lake Okanagan.

Myra Canyon Adventure Park

One of the most exciting activities for kids in Kelowna is the Myra Canyon Adventure Park. There are different activities for visitors of all ages, and I really loved exploring the bridges and rope courses here. If your kids need to burn off some energy, it’s a great place to let them run wild for a few hours. Even younger kids can join in on the fun, as there are smaller courses which are one of the most exciting things to do in Kelowna for younger children.

Don-O-Ray Farm Adventure

If you are visiting Kelowna in the summer, I’d recommend checking out Don-O-Ray Farm Adventure. It offers a small petting zoo for kids, who will love interacting with the animals here. There’s also a great market where I love purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables.

There are so many things to do in Kelowna for families with kids of all ages, and you are sure to find something to fill every day of your vacation if you are staying here this year. If you love spending time outdoors, I’d highly recommend visiting Kelowna, as you’ll be blown away by the beautiful nature and scenery on offer here.
