This past weekend Saturday was filled with sessions, and I kicked it off with a morning maternity session at Derby Reach Regional Park. I “met” Melissa over Instagram about a year and a half ago. I’m actually a little shocked with how often I say that recently and wonder if I would know anyone if it weren’t for Instagram. I was looking for knee high socks for my daughter, and Melissa owns a small shop of curated socks called Petite Littles. She sent me a pair of socks for my daughter in exchange for photos.

Fast forward almost two years, Melissa is expecting her fourth petite little of her own- a third little girl, and she should be joining us earth-side any day now!

We decided to fit in a last minute Maternity session before baby girl decides to make her debut, but when we decided this, it was Friday and time was extremely limited! As far as Melissa knew, baby girl could potentially come the following Monday. So, we both rearranged our plans a little and fit in a Saturday 11am maternity session. As we were working around plans, it just so happened that the only time that worked, Melissa’s husband and son weren’t available to take part, so we ended up with a Mommy and me session, and I have to say, I love how it turned out.

M’s adventurous spirit was often distracted by the large field and trails at Derby Reach, while E’s loving nature was evident throughout the session. She is possibly the easiest child I’ve ever photographed. She needed no prompting but naturally snuggled into her mom and baby sister naturally. These girls are going to be the best big sisters to this tiny little one, and I’m so honoured I had the opportunity to capture Melissa’s first session with all three of her little girls! But I think I speak for all involved when I say – come on, baby girl! We can’t wait to meet you!
