West Vancouver has some of the most beautiful parks to visit, many of which would make the perfect day out for your whole family. Keep reading as I share with you my top West Vancouver parks which you’ll love exploring over the upcoming months.

Cypress Falls Park

Cypress Falls Park offers so many different options for a family day out. I highly recommend taking the hike to the waterfall here, but if you are feeling a little more active, you could even enjoy a game of tennis. This is the ideal spot for a picnic, and your dog will enjoy spending time running around in nature too.

Ambleside Park

Ambleside Park is one of my favourite West Vancouver parks, thanks to its 24 hectares of sandy beach. If you have a dog, I think this is a great spot to visit, and you can walk along the shoreline path together. The views here are so beautiful, and you’ll enjoy looking over towards Burrard Inlet and the English Bay.

Dundarave Park

Dundarave Park offers another lovely sandy beach, and it’s one of my favourite West Vancouver parks to bring younger children. It has a playground and wading pool, so it’s a good day out for the summer break. On top of that, you’ll find a picnic area and washrooms, so I think it has everything you need for a family day out.

John Lawson Park

John Lawson Park has a fascinating history, as it’s where the first non-native residents settled in the area about 150 years ago. I love visiting here for the swimming, walking paths, and spectacular views. Kids enjoy playing on the large playground here, so it’s a good spot for individuals of all ages to visit.

Whyte Lake Park

Whyte Lake Park is the largest of the West Vancouver parks. It’s a traditional park that offers trails, creeks, a forest, and a lake. If you enjoy hiking together as a family, I highly recommend heading here to enjoy the 2-hour hike, which is of moderate intensity. There is public parking at the trailhead but get here early when the weather is nice to avoid the crowds.

Whytecliff Park 

Whytecliff Park has some of the best views around, and you’ll enjoy admiring the coastline and mountains in the distance. There’s a swimming beach that I love spending time on with my family, as well as a playground, tennis courts, and picnic spots. This is one of the best spots in the area for scuba diving, and both beginners and more experienced divers head to this West Vancouver park for this reason. After all of the fun you’ll have exploring the park, I recommend checking out the café on site, which offers lunch and snacks throughout the day.

All of these West Vancouver parks are ideal for a family day out this year, and I highly recommend planning a trip to each one of them over the upcoming months.
